A member of the Bentonville Police Bomb Squad removes a gasoline can Wednesday from a room at a vacant hotel on Southeast Walton Boulevard near U.S. 71 in Bentonville. A police officer patroling the vacant hotel just before 7 a.m. discovered suspicious items, including a 5-gallon chlorine bucket, PVC pipes and wiring, inside a room after noticing an open door.

Elisa Daniel of Rogers shows an Osceola wild turkey she shot in Florida. The gobbler is one of four wild turkey species taken across the nation during her quest for a grand slam on wild turkeys. A grand slam is harvesting all four species of wild turkey commonly found in the United States. Elisa, 16, hunted with her dad, Jim Daniel, from New Mexico to Florida to complete the grand slam.

Students from John Tyson Elementary School walk Wednesday down Cambridge Street to Tyson Foods headquarters to celebrate the end of their fundraising campaign for the American Wheelchair Mission. Tyson employees later greeted and cheered them on for their effort and donated $500 to the cause. The school, which has been doing the annual fundraising for eight years, raised around $9,000 toward supplying wheelchairs to those in need around the world.

Hailey Porr, 7, labels a personal care packages “Kids Care Pac” on Wednesday at Victory Church in Springdale. The church has been creating relief packages for victims in Moore, Okla., since Tuesday. The church collects donations for disaster relief throughout the year and sent pillows, blankets, sheets and other items to Moore on Tuesday with excess donations they received during the Joplin tornado disaster. Victory Church will continue to accept donations and send items throughout the week.
