Dancing to banjo tunes by Tim McClung of Rogers helped Lowell Elementary School student Jaxson Wisneski, left, and Lowell teacher’s aide Pat Jackman work up an appetite at the Rogers Noon Kiwanis Buddy Picnic on Wednesday at Lake Atalanta Park in Rogers. Kiwanis members served a hot dog and hamburger lunch to about 275 Rogers School District special education students, their teachers and aides at the annual picnic. Robert Storey, Kiwanis member, said the club has hosted the gathering for 15 to 20 years.

The first Wednesday of the season for the Rogers Farmers Market found vendor Plia Moua reaching for a bundle of radishes for a customer. Moua, an Oklahoma gardener, had ample piles of early season vegetables at her farmer’s market tent. The market is at a new location in the parking lot south of the Frisco caboose along South First Street in downtonwn Rogers. The market is open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday and Wednesday, said manager Kim Scott.

The group will perform Friday as a part of First Friday in Bentonville and 10 a.m. until noon Saturday along Frisco Trail in Fayetteville as a part of the Trail Mix Concert Tour. The group is in the area as a part of the Walton Arts Center’s Artosphere festival this month.
