Charlie Brown, an 11-year-old chocolate labrador retriever, sits as the middle of attention Tuesday from the second-graders from Sherri Wheeler’s class at Vandergriff Elementary School in Fayetteville. Charlie Brown is the namesake of the annual book sale at the school that raises money for the Fayetteville Animal Shelter. The book sale that takes place the last week of school will offer around 15,000 books this year.
