The Benton County chapter of the Arkansas State Employees Association was named the association’s Outstanding Chapter of 2012 at a luncheon Aug. 18 at the 44th annual convention. The chapter was honored for its community efforts, which have included participating in numerous fundraisers for Horses for Healing, contributing to the Labels for Education program for Pea Ridge schools, making donations to the area children’s shelter and making a special year-round project of soliciting donations for the Northwest Arkansas Women’s Shelter. Incoming Benton County Chapter President Jimmy Owen and Immediate Past Chapter President Loy Bailey accepted the award along with the other members of the chapter.
