Springdale firefighters examine a 1961 Beechcraft Baron on Thursday that crashed
at the Springdale Municipal Airport. No one was injured in the crash. The twin-engine plane had landed smoothly and was rolling down the runway when the left-side landing gear collapsed, said James Smith, airport manager. The pilot wasn’t injured. Federal Aviation Administration records indicate the plane was registered to a property company in Delaware. The plane was arriving from Springfield, Mo., according to tracking data from flightaware.com. Rusty Shackleford, who landed his own plane immediately before the Beechcraft touched down, identified the Baron pilot as Steve Judd. The plane’s engines, propellers, nose, belly and left wing were damaged.
