Kristi Mitchell, left, of Bentonville receives an inspirational poem Saturday from Mary White Schneider during a recognition ceremony for degree recipients during the Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Benton County’s annual spring awards and workshop event at NorthWest Arkansas Community College in Bentonville. Mitchell said she will graduate in the spring with a bachelor’s degree in English and plans to pursue a master’s degree. Schneider is the incoming president for the program. More than 150 participants in the program will be receiving scholarships this spring totalling $182,000. AN INSPIRATION
