Instructors from Northwest Technical Institute and students from Old Wire Elementary School (above) watch Friday an experimental balloon launch at the school in Rogers. The 1,500 gram balloon, the largest NTI has launched, was expected to go at least 19 miles up. The balloon is carrying various scientific measuring equipment including, a temperature sensor, accelerometer, radiation detector and a few cameras.
