Johnny Kinard, center, and Joshua McDonald, right, workers with Southern Excavation in Fairhope, Ala., straighten a mat as Shane Mitch operates an excavator Friday while they restructure the Mullins Creek stream bank and bed designed by the Watershed Conservation Resource Center in Fayetteville. The creek is a tributary of the West Fork of the White River, which eventually feeds into Beaver Lake. The work, made possible with money from the city, the University of Arkansas and a grant from the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission, will help reduce erosion and nutrient loss.
