Amanda Vaillancout, 13, from right, Laura Chaney, 13, and Sarah Biondolillo, 13, students from Providence Classical Christian Academy, collectively pull back on their pumpkin slingshot Thursday at First Church of the Nazarene in Rogers during the annual Punkin’ Chunkin’ event. Students in eighth-grade physical science had to build a device, either a catapult, slingshot or trebuchet, to launch their pumpkin as far as possible. The project was optional for the school’s senior physics class as well.
